The artifact that I chose to include in my e-profilo for this unit is the picture of each bacterium. In the picture shows each bacterium but in a physical form so it gives us an idea of what it actually looks like. The bacterium is very tiny and hard for us to see without a use of a compound light microscope but gives us a clear and accurate idea. Each of them represents a specific bacterium. The brown bacterium on the left represents the Ebola is a virus that is carried by animals. The effects of having Ebola are having the Ebola hemorrhagic fever. The light green bacterium next to the Ebola is the Influenza or the Flu. The flu is a virus that makes you weak and sick for weeks or even longer. It causes infections in your body such as fever, stomachache, headaches etc. The next bacterium is the light orange one next to the flu. It represents the Ear infections. An ear infection is when the ear is get inflammation and infected in the middle of the ear. The last bacterium that is represented in the picture is the flesh eating disease. The flesh eating disease is s a rareinfection of the deeper layers of skin and the subcutaneous tissues.
Also included in this picture are small description on the side and of each bacterium and also a picture of the actual bacterium and what it looks like under a microscope. This artifact left a vivid image in my mind because it is easier to remember what each bacterium was by knowing what they look like. By knowing what it looked like it left a clear image in my head.
